Family Conversations Team-up and Link-up #27

Back in January, I proclaimed 2016 as my year of teamwork. It has awesome experiencing the power of teamwork in action with the launch of my latest book on creative family conversations.  Here is what has happened so far!

20 Family Conversations Over Dinner

In addition to writing an incredible review, Pat Fenner from, asked if she could compile a list of her favorite 20 questions from the book in a downloadable PDF. She came up with the awesome idea of cutting the questions out, placing them in a basket, and taking turns drawing-out and answering these questions over dinner. I absolutely love this idea as it provides an added layer of activity and mystery! You can check out Pat’s full article, and download the PDF here: Table Talk. Oh, and bloggers will want to add their recent post to Pat and Candy’s weekly Coffee and Conversation Link-up too–it’s at the bottom of her post!

Joyfull Family Conversations With Etienne and Chatiela

Next, I had a blast teaming-up with Etienne and Chatiela on their show, In The Author’s Corner!  The three of us discussed the importance of family conversations, and dove into some of our favorite conversation starters from the book. You can hear the replay below.

Family Conversations Review

In a recent review, Dennis Coates, author of Conversations With The Wise Uncle: The Secret to Being Strong as a Teenager and Preparing for Success as an Adult, had this to say about the book:

One of the most valuable things a parent can do is to stimulate a child to think for himself. The skill is simple: ask an open-ended question. But what question?

Jed Jurchenko’s book greatly simplifies this challenge. Over 100 provocative questions organized around family-centered themes. A parent can use the book as a hip-pocket source of conversation starters. The result, kids talking about things that matter.

It’s a wonderful idea and a wonderful resource…

You can find Dennis’ full review here. Then, click on the button below for a preview of the book!

Join The Team And Get Your Free Copy!

I wish I had the budget to send free paperback copies of 131 Creative Conversations For Families, to everyone. I love giving books away. Last year, I wrote about the power of free, on my friend Adam Smith’s site. And the power of free is something I continue to believe in today! While giving away free paperback books is a future aspiration, what I can do today is send you a free eBook for review. Simply email me at, and I’ll reply with your review copy attached!

While your at it, be sure to pick up a copy of my friend, Jon Beaty’s new book. It’s free though this Friday! I had the privileged of previewing the initial chapters, picked up the completed edition earlier this week, and can’t wait to dive in!

    1. Thanks Debbie. This was a fun book to write, and I’m incredibly grateful to have so many people jump in and offer feedback, words of encouragement, and support along the way 🙂 Wishing you a happy Friday!

  1. Jed,

Thanks for helping me get the word out about my book. Your progress of year of teamwork has raised the bar for me–it’s inspired me to do more to help, promote and encourage others. Thanks!
